Playtime & Storytime

Playtime with dad is the best. The kids love doing the "airplane" but of course this time Jack had to be on dad while he was also doing airplane with Amee too.
This was my favorite photo of the weekend. Amee was just sitting there in the middle of a huge mess and she looked up at me as if to say "it wasn't me!". Meanwhile, I am sure Jack was in the toy closet looking for something else to bring out and dump on the floor. This and some other photos were taken on my iPhone and are super pixelated but you get the general idea. Priceless moment!

Jack is almost 2!! I can't believe it. He has always seemed in a rush to get "bigger". I can't believe how much he already looks like a big boy and just like dad too. He won't smile at the camera but loves to see the photos on the screen once they are taken. His big new phrases are Where Ar U - Caamm in (come in) - La Yuu (love you) and Sorry! Mike and I look at each other multiple times a day and say "Did he just say that?"

Meanwhile, Amelie is a compete dolly. Her hair is unbelievably long and I got some little baby hairbands just to see if I could get it in piggies. She of course hatted me getting them in but she is getting better about me playing with her hair. I have to brush it multiple times a day or it will stand straight out with static and knots.

This is a very common look of excitement. She is playing with Jack who always makes her laugh with delight.

We went to the library story time last week and Jack seemed to enjoy it. At not quiet 2 his doesn't really get into long stories being read to him. He has 2 favorites that he will sit through. How does a dinosaur say goodnight? and Where the wild things are. Since he is home most days with our nanny I am starting to make a point to go on outings with him at least a few times a week. Sometimes the grocery store provides plenty of lessons for him in patience, communication and entertainment.

One thing I know for sure is that having these kids is the best thing I have ever done. So much of everything - joy, energy, love, lessons, frustration, entertainment and just plain fun. I do wish I had more time to hang out with other moms and there young kids but the time I do get is so great. Jack is still so kissable and cuddly and everyday he is so incredibly excited to see me when I come through the door. Amelie is a beautiful girl, fun and full of smiles. I can't imagine our lives without them.
