All the wine...

For my birthday this year we sandwiched the weekday birth date with 2 weekends of fun. First we went to Octoberfest in Mt Angel and sampled the food and wine. For my birthday, Mike gave me a beautiful wine cabinet to put my wine and glasses in. The perfect gift.

I don't think I've mentioned it on the blog but about 3 weeks ago we had a student from Spain arrive. Marta who is a translation student from a small town outside Barcelona is with us for 3 months while studying English at PCC, Rockcreek.
Jackson has grown up so much in the past month and he is such a happy guy whenever we go on an outing. We are planning a lot more outings since Marta has joined us and sometimes I just want to stay home so Jack can nap and be at home. But when we do go out and about he is the happiest little man.
The weekend after my birthday we went to a wine harvest party at St Joseph's in Canby. They did grape stomping which was really fun to watch. There was German music and brats. The vineyard looks like a German villa and it was packed with people, so much busier that we anticipated. But we still had a blast with my family and friends who came.

Mike has been taking a Martial Arts class for the past few months and he left his boxing gloves out after class on Monday. We found Jack chewing on them as if to say, me too dad. So we put them on. He was a natural.
My brother came over today and hang out while Oma watched Jack. They played with this toy for awhile and Jack was so happy to be showing off and standing up for Josh.
In other news, Jack had been at Nike day care for the past 4 weeks. It has been a big adjustment but he has done well. Naps are much shorter but he has developed a whole lot. I think it helps to watch the other older babies. In the past week however I have been looking into some other options. I found a great lady who does in home care and she is very close to my work. So, Jack is going there on Fridays for now and I am seriously thinking about it as a full time option. Everything these days seems to point to, save $ everywhere you can. So, we shall see. I am feeling very positive about the move.

It is hard to blog as often as I would like these days. But I love and appreciate my blog readers who support this working mom with their friendship and encouraging comments.

Jack @ 7 months

I'm enjoying the last days of summer in my turtle raft. I love my sunglasses although I rarely keep them on my face cause I'd rather chew on them.

This month I start wearing cloth fuzzi bunz. I love the way they feel...until I poop that is.

This month I started Nike day care. I get to watch all the bigger kids stand and pull up. I learned how after just 1 week and now I stand beside my toy box all the time and pull the toys out on by one.
Simba is my friend. I chew on friends.

I love going for a ride in my stroller. I do this alot.
I've outgrown my baby bath so now I take some baths in the kitchen sink. I love eating the bubbles.

Labor Day at the Beach

These photos are from our trip to the beach this past weekend. Half the weekend was spent with my parents at their beachhouse. The other half was at Salasham Hotel & Spa with some friends. The time was some much needed R&R before the Fall. We enjoyed our little guy and I think he really enjoyed himself.
