Simple. Sunny. Savior.

Amelie's little Easter outfit and the many expressions of Amee!

Our Easter weekend was filled with simple pleasures. It seems like these days the simple things are the most enjoyed and most memorable. On sunny good Friday we played with our new bubble maker that boasts that it can make 1000 bubbles per minute. Amelie loved grabbing for the bubbles and would look surprised when they would pop. 

Easter Eggs were a favorite. I had forgotten how fun they can be to decorate. Jack liked getting to plop the eggs into the cups of dye and watch them turn colors. We also made little chicken and bunny finger puppets which Amelie really laughed at.

This year Jack really got into finding the eggs we hid around the beach house living room. I was hoping to get to hid them on the beach but it was really rainy and cold on Sunday. All the same Jack would open each egg and eat the gummy fruity out while smiley in delight. Then he would kick his feet back and dance around while being told to put the egg in his basket and find the next one.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium was really the highlight of our weekend at the beach. What fun for both the kids to get to see all the sea animals and the adults loved the sunny day. Jack's favorite was the sea lions which would come swimming up to the window. He also liked the sea urchins and sea stars.

Our family photos turned out a little fizzy. Oh well.

Amelie was really engaged at the Aquarium and was looking all around at everything. She is getting to be so talkative and social. She talks bla, bla, bla and then gives a little pouty face.

The beach is always a favorite for Jack. He can pick up rocks and explore until he is so cold he is shaking. He also really likes dad's kite and playing with his papa in the sand. 

Although with two little kids there is not much down time to reflect and consider the Lord's greatest gift. But we did slow down and enjoy his creation which was spectacular..

SPRING OUTINGS



My magnolia's are in bloom but the rain has forced a brief season for their blooms which are already turning brown. But they have been brilliant and are always a sure sign that the winter is over and spring is here!



Our neighborhood is in bloom. THANK GOD for SPRING! 



My siblings were visiting us in Portland and so we took everyone to the Zoo for a little fun. Jack must have said every animal and corresponding sound that he knew.
Bear, goat, pig, elephant, monkey, zebra, giraffe, lion, tiger, hippo and on and on.

THE FARM

At the Hanson's family farm Jack got to pet the baby goats. I don't think there is anything in the world that Jack gets more obsessive and excited about than ANIMALS. He will gabber up a storm "laa daa dee tee yaydayada PIG, K??"
All you really get is a lot of babbling and then PIG loud and clear and then a questioning K?? Like you got what I said mommy about going to see the pigs today right? Adorable.

Jack really liked feeding the chickens and he also liked that they were smaller than him. The goats were a little intimidating because they were just his side and could jump up and knock him over.

Amelie on the other hand is totally not the explorer. When he are out and about she is a snuggler and doesn't get overcome by all there is to see and do. She just likes to be held and snuggled in,

At 9 months, Amelie is already looking like such a big girl. She makes the most expressive faces but they are hard to capture on camera, especially with everything always going on in our house. But there give you a little taste.
