Well, loyal blog readers and occasional visitors of the Jacobs blog. Life seems to be changing fast around us. Mike is passionately pursuing a new idea in starting a classic mini cooper import business. This might sound kinda crazy or really fun to you. And it is both! He now wants to sell his motorcycle and gain some financial leverage to buy Austin Mini’s from France and ship them to Portland. He’s so awesome! And I just want him to buy me my own car again. But Mike thankfully has no plans to quit his day job any time soon. We'll see how it all comes together.
Me on the other hand, I am feeling literally forced out of my current job. I won’t go into all the details but I have had some other very appealing offers come up. This is like the week of final interviews. (be praying for me) Ahh crazy to think about right now! But very exciting. I might have some more updates very soon.
Our students, April and Saki are in the middle of summer term. April has been with us now for 4 months and Saki for a little over a month. They are very different but fun to have around and keeping our home feeling busy and buzzin. The summer is flying by and we need to plan some more BBQ get togethers. Any takers? This photo of Mike and I was taken recently at the water front - having a blast, just being us - enjoying the summer!

Mom Irish & Jason
Mike's mom and older brother just left town for OK City after a busy week of fun! I fly in from Boston on Saturday morning and we get into the car and drive to the beach! Whoo!! So we spent the night at the beachhouse and had a huge fire with oysters and prawns roasted on wood next to our teepee size fire built by Jason, Mike and Jack Daniels. The next day we got up had an amazing breakfast and the drove to McMinnville and stayed at Hotel Oregon, McMineminns. We went wine tasting at some of our favorite places, Elk Cove and Witness Tree. Mike and Jason played golf at the Bayou and Jennifer and I spent the afternoon in Old Town and went to an amazing French Café for lunch. I don't know why or how but we really wore ourselves out and ended up heading home earlier than planned.

Once back from the coast we spend a fabulous night out at my very favorite place, Veritable Quandry having a lovely dinner and enjoying each others not often seen faces.
