Jack's 5 Months

Well this little baby has made a transformation over the past couple of months from a baby to a very little boy. His face has dramatically changed and I hardly recognize him in his early baby pictures.

Of course a favorite past time is hanging out with dad. I think Mike has his MiniMe.
Jack's little fishing hat will be a favorite until he outgrows it.
This past few days Jack has been trying his hand at eating off a spoon. As you can see he is pretty messy.
Of his favorite past time is the baby pool. He loves playing with his toys or when he has to share he just sits back and watches the action.
He's great at chillin". IN fact dad often says, you're the chillinest baby on the block. And he is. Very mellow, easy going and now loves to explore anything new.

Since going back to work 2 months ago things have been very busy for me. You can maybe tell from my less than frequent posts. But I still love blogging when I can. Quite frankly I am blessed to say that I still have a job, all be it a slightly different one. There has been such a upheaval at Nike lately that I am looking forward to things settling back down. I am still up in the air about childcare for the Fall. I am enrolled in Nike's childcare but I would love to find someone who does in home child care. Any ideas?
We are baby proofing our house little by little. For example we've replaced our cream couches with a chocolate brown sectional in hopes of avoiding the inevitable kid prints on the white background. We just replaced our entertainment unit for one with doors that close to keep little fingers off of daddy's electronics. And soon I'm sure we will have a little "mobile" curious George to give it all meaning. Until then, we are loving the summer and enjoying it complete with daiquiri in hand.

Tubbin' & Pool Fun

This little guy loves the water. He got to go in the hot tub and the pool with dad and he was in baby heaven. Slashing, kicking and screaming the whole time.

We tried putting him in his little ducky tub but he was not all that amused. So dad took him for a swim in the big pool. I can tell we will be doing this a lot this summer.

Jack's new trick is rolling from him back to his tummy. He is pretty much obsessed with doing it. I awoke this morning at 4am to the sound of his little whimper. He had rolled onto his tummy and was expecting someone to be there to congratulate him. No such person was present. He ended up falling asleep face down.

4th of July Family Trip

For the 4th of July weekend we went on a 5 day road trip through Willamette Valley wine country. It was picture perfect! We visited several wonderful vineyards, favorites included Annie Amie, Montinore and Willamette Valley Vineyards. Each day we had a picnic at the vineyard after tasting. What a way to relax.

Playing with Jackson was a highlight for everyone. He is getting to the age where he loves to reach out for toys, laugh and giggle and interact with smiling faces.
We stayed in some charming B&B. It was so nice to get a chance to hang out with family in a homey setting.
A long time dream of mine has been to stay at the Heceta Head Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. Our rooms shared a bathroom with the most amazing claw foot tub that looked out a the lighthouse. Everyone took at bath, why not?

The Lighthouse B&B had a 7 course breakfast. It was decatant and beautifully plated. The whole thing took over 2 hours.

So many pictures were taken of Jackson that I couldn't post them all. Check out the picasa album for all the photos.

4 months

The boy is getting big. What fun! He turned 4 months last week but I was waiting for the 4 month check up status to share an update.

Jackson is now 13 lb. 7 oz. and in the 25% for weight, he is 25 inches long and in the 50% percentile for height. His head is now 15 inches around!! That means it is 50% bigger than when he was born. And there is a little brain and personality coming out to there too.
This past month Jack has learned to:
* giggle and laugh like it's nobodies business
* roll from back to front
* sit and stand in his excersaucer
* reach out and grab things...and then put them in his mouth
* droll like a St. Bernard (ok not quite that bad)
* eat some cereal from a bottle
* sleep 11 hours through the night
* and he is starting to be so active on the floor that we think he is trying to crawl...ahh not yet Jack.
