GOING DIVING - DAY 1/2/3

So, my 3rd Saturdays pool dive went very well. I got down to the bottom of the pool and nailed all of my skill tests. I have one more Saturday to go and next week I am going to get it all down. 4th week will be the longest and the hardest but I think I am getting the hang of things by now.

So, the photographer is going to have to work on his skills, but nonetheless. Pool dive #2 was this Saturday and I have to tell you, it was a hard day for me. I really had a hard time trusting myself deep under water. I guess it did not realize that I had a bit of a fear of deep water until I was in it. We have learned how to ascend and decent safely, share air supplies when out of air, signal our buddy. etc. But today, we had to take off our mask while down at the bottom of the pool, over 15 feet deep. It was tough, and while Mike is diving today I am going back to the pool to practice. Next week we have to swim the pool length without our mask. So anyone who has dived before and done this, I salute you.

Dive #1 - So my brother Josh and I started our first scuba class on Saturday in a session of 5 classes needed to get scuba certified. This is going to be a huge challenge for me as I am not naturally very comfortable deep under water. But the first classed helped me feel a little more at ease and diving with my big, little brother is a blast. I could not do it without him. But I will get some diving shots soon to share, once I get a little better and don't look like a big goof.
