Admittedly it is easier for me to post some pictures of the kids than it would be for me to post photos of our new house. Some boxed are still not unpacked, some curtains still not up but we are mostly moved in and on with life. Mike started his new job and really loves it so far. He has a great office now, a gym membership (which make him happy) and feels a renewed sense of encouragement knowing that he is starting fresh with good new people.
I have been working remotely now for more than 3 weeks and for the most part is is going great. We had seen Mike's brother Matt and wife Christi and the kids cousins Mattie and Meghan a lot. These photos were taken of the kids outside our house with their cousins. By 7pm it is only about 70 outside.
| I had to post these photos of the kids playing outside our house on the motorcyle. It is motorized but doesn't go to fast so both Amelie and Jack can ride it. Thanks Mom! |
We are still unpacking and getting our house in order. Old McDonald's Farm just 10 minutes from our house provided a nice distraction this weekend from all the chores and tasks.
Waiting in line for the horse ride.
Both kids took their first ride on a horse. Amee wasn't sure what to think about the horse. It was so big but she didn't seem scared just a little ansy (like always).
I think it is in kids nature to fear big animals because every child in line in front of us was freaking out at the thought of being put on a horse. Jack was sacred to start but overcame the fear and sat quiet with no enthusiasm for like 2 minutes while he took his first horsy ride.
Jack said he favorite animal was the cow and who would disagree. This milk cow was awesome! He stood eating corn and grain while we watched him and Jack said "moo moo, cow".
Each top we made to see a new animal, Jack would make the noise that animal says as if he was talking to them and saying hi.
Amelie is becoming such a toddler. She walk around talking to herself all the time in the cutest notes. One thing she says often is "ack ack" which means of course "Jack Jack".
She was crazy about the sleeping bunnies. We experienced a little fit when we had to leave.
There are no pumpkin patches in Houston. It is just too hot I think. Jack's cheeks were so red from the heat at 5pm in in the afternoon. He and Amee did get to pick out a pumpkin at the farm though.
Jack's pumpkins got away from him. :)
I can't believe it is mid October and 80 degrees everyday! Happy fall (feels more like Oregon summer) !!
