V-DAY

Mike took us to the Veritable Quandary my favorite "nice" restaurant last night. It was great food and I love the European cafe atmosphere. I had duck confit with a quince glaze and a port wine sauce. Confit is a French word which means to preserve by curing in a salt brine like ham is cured, then it is poached in fat and finally coated in a layer of fat and chilled. It can then be stored for up to six months. Then it can be eaten as is or cooked and then it needs to be eaten within 3 to 5 months. A quince is like a pear or an apple and was thought to be the fruit which was originally used to make marmalade. Now at this point, I could not cook it myself, but I like reseaching these things and then hopefully trying it myself. It sure was yummy!

Meg was in town this week and we had lunch today at Geraldi’s which makes the best sub in downtown.

Sounds like your party went over big and it looks like it was a lot of fun! It was nice to have lunch with you, although I was a bit bummed about not getting to have dinner with you, you punks! Like working out is more important than having some quality time with me?! Well, I hope you all got nice & buff in the meantime. I still want my pillow back! Luv, Megs

Speaking of pillows, do you still have mine that I left at the bachelorette party? I enjoy viewing your blog since you introduced me to it. Heather
